Welcome to LEAD Child Care Tingalpa!
I would like to firstly introduce myself, my name is Krissy Buckman and I have the privilege of being part of this beautiful service as the centre manager. I have over ten year’s year experience in the early childhood sector and many of this these years have been spent with LEAD childcare- my home away from home.
Our service is located in the heart of Tingalpa, offering convenient drop offs on the way to the city and is close to public transport. We cater for children from six weeks of age up until the age of twelve years and feel grateful that we have the opportunity to watch children begin their journey with us in the nursery and graduate five years later in our kindergarten room. We offer a Government Approved Queensland Kindergarten Program, which is delivered by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher. We also offer before and after school care, with drop offs and pickups in our service bus and vacation care over the school holiday period, as well as pupil free day care when applicable.
Our beautiful centre has five spacious rooms with age appropriate programs delivered by qualified and experienced staff who have also been part of the LEAD family for many years. We pride ourselves on being reflective and collaborative educators who use children’s emerging needs and interests as the driving focus of our curriculum and care, in partnership with the children’s most influential and first teachers; their families. Our practices are guided by the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines and My Time, Our Place. Our teams practices, programs and documentation has been through the Assessment and Ratings process conducted by the Office of Early Childhood and received an overall rating of ‘meeting’ National Quality Standards.
LEAD Tingalpa recognises the original custodians of the land on which we play and learn. We reflect on ways to ensure our acknowledgement to reconciliation and our respect for the original land owners is evident throughout our programs and environments, and through embedded daily practices with the children, our families and to and with our local community. We also enjoy connecting with other members of our local community by engaging with local health departments, schools, businesses and government agencies.
Our large, spacious outdoor environments offers a natural space with intentional areas built to promote exploration and investigation through play. The children’s gross motor skills are consistently being challenged through our ever changing climbing and balancing equipment and as they engage in ball and group team games with our team of educators and each other. The sandpit and rock garden offer plenty of opportunities for play, social interaction and inquiry. We promote sustainable practices by letting the children take responsibility for our plants and gardens, as well as using the compost bins to empty their scraps into daily.
Lastly, our onsite and highly experienced centre cook prepares all children’s meals, including age appropriate purees for our nursery room. Our centre menu is on display each day and is made in conjunction with our children and families, as well as aligning with the Australian Dietary Guidelines. The children are engaged in meaningful cooking lessons weekly, where they are able to prepare and eat their own foods that they have been involved in the process of making.
Please contact our service to arrange an appointment where we can showcase the authentic and wonderful learning and care that we have to offer here at LEAD Tingalpa. We look forward to having you join our LEAD family.

"My children enjoy the atmosphere. I love that they have a lot of different themes. My sons speech has improved a lot. The educators are always available to give me an update on my children's day when I pick them up. Storypark is also a great way to see what they have been doing through the day."
