Our Centre

Meet our Centre & Director

Bienvenido! Konnichiwa! Yaama!

(Spanish, Japanese and Gamilaraay welcome)

Hello, my name is Lauren Harris and I am the Centre Manager of LEAD Goondiwindi. I have worked at LEAD Goondiwindi since June 2011 and began the position of Manager in June 2014.

We cater for children from six weeks to 12 years of age.

We have qualified Early Childhood Teacher who delivers a Government Approved Kindergarten Program.  We also provide a Vacation Care program over the holiday periods. Our service has an onsite cook that provides all children’s meals based on a menu prepared which meets the Australian Nutritional Standards. Our bus service is complimentary to all families and will collect and return children to their homes. We provide a nappy and linen service to children under two years.

Our team of educators develop partnerships with families, children and the wider community. These partnerships allow them to create learning experiences that engage children. This enables children to feel a sense of belonging and assist them to become a part of their own learning journey.  We are also fortunate to be part of a linguistically and culturally diverse community - this is also reflected in our team of passionate educators.

Our emergent curriculum is child led and we encourage family participation in all aspects of the program.  Our rooms offer warm inviting environments where qualified experienced educators scaffold children’s learning. We provide extracurricular opportunities to extend children’s learning.

We have beautiful, natural and inviting environments in our playgrounds, which the children have helped plan, plant and care for.

We have a hairdresser who visits each month for those busy parents who can’t make it to a salon.

Our Kindergarten children visit the Kaloma, the local nursing home monthly and spend time with the residents having morning tea and enjoying craft activities. On occasion the residents visit the children at the service.

We promote sustainability and showcase this by providing a wide range of gardens and animals at the sevice that the children help care for. Our natural resources are readily available for children to explore. We pride ourselves on the consistent input from families with sustainable practices and embedding it within the service’s curriculum.

Please contact our centre to arrange an appointment to ensure we have the time to showcase the wonderful learning we have to offer here at LEAD Goondiwindi.
